Most of the Giga Hosts offer a service too cheap to afford mainframe systems. Their servers will run a basic spec . With the advancements seen in hard disk technology, the average hard disk capacity of such machines is now 400 Gb or more. If we assume that all of this space is dedicated to storing customer content then such a server would be able to host 20 user accounts, (20*20 Gb) and at $10/month would generate $200 of revenue monthly? If all this were true it would take more than a year to cover the cost of the server..
‘Giga Hosts’ offer a service they actually do not want you to use. The terms of service often use the following methods to prevent you from using their full capacity.
- Daily transfer limit.
- Hits per second limit.
- DB Connection rate limits.
- File size limit.
- Database size limit.
Using one or a combination of the above terms, most hosts can make sure that customers use a fraction of the plans they signed on for.
So be wise in choosing your web host. Make sure they are experienced in this field and take wise decision.
